Toilets Improve Girls’ School Attendance

The Rotary Club of Poona, India, the 3rd Rotary Club formed in India with a charter date of 1936, proudly partnered with the Rotary Club of Stavenger, Norway in providing toilets to 13 rural schools. The impact: school attendance by girls who had reached puberty improved considerably.

  1. Those toilets look wonderful!!! Just a word of caution, if they are to be pumped out when filled, there must be a strict provision for disposal of sanitary napkins NOT in the pit. Otherwise the pumping system will be clogged and ineffective.
